Building Futures Pre-Apprenticeship Roofing Programme
Students undertake both classroom study and hands-on practical activities and training to give them a greater understanding of the 3 roofing disciplines – slating and tiling, sheeting and cladding, and waterproofing.
They will achieve a Level 1 Introduction in Construction, together with site required training on abrasive wheels, asbestos awareness, fire safety, manual handling and working at height.
Students will study for and sit the Health & Safety Operatives test (for their CSCS card), undertake mock interviews and real on-site work experience with one of our established roofing contractors.
English and maths will also be provided for those who require it.
Potential to progress onto an Apprenticeship in Roofing
There are two intakes per year (January/February and August/September).
