L2 ROOF SLATING AND TILING APPRENTICESHIP – SIMIAN

The aim of this Apprenticeship is to equip learners with competency in all aspects of Roof Slating and Tiling and the health and safety knowledge that surrounds it. Learners will gain practical experience and training in installing interlocking tiles, plain tiles and regular sized natural roof slates and to a variety of roof pitches and details. Learners will also acquire the theoretical knowledge needed to achieve the roof slating and tiling framework.

To be eligible for SIMIAN’s Roof Slating and Tiling Apprenticeship, learners must be sponsored by an employer that specialises in roofing and tiling. The course is open to learners of all ages. English and maths are a mandatory element of this apprenticeship. Learners not holding the necessary qualification in these or without an exemption will be fully supported to achieve the required levels of qualification. A British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.

On successful completion apprentices will be accredited under the Level 2 Training Standard in Roof Slating and Tiling. They will be eligible for employment in the roofing industry as a craft operative and eligible to apply for a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card.
