L2 WATERPROOF MEMBRANE APPRENTICESHIP – SIMIAN

The aim of the course is to equip learners with competency in all aspects of waterproof membranes installation and the health and safety knowledge that surrounds it. Learners will also acquire the theoretical knowledge needed to achieve the flat roofing framework. Learners will gain practical experience and training in installing waterproof membranes, such as single ply systems, reinforced bitumen membranes and liquids to a variety of different details.

To be eligible for SIMIAN’s Membrane Installer Apprenticeship, learners must be sponsored by an employer that specialises in waterproof membrane installation. The course is open to learners of all ages. English and maths are a mandatory element of this apprenticeship. Learners not holding the necessary qualification in these or without an exemption will be fully supported to achieve the required levels of qualification. A British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.

On successful completion apprentices will be accredited under the Level 2 Training Standard in Waterproof Membranes installation. They will be eligible for employment in the flat
roofing industry as a craft operative and eligible to apply for a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker card.
